The brief
Bringing inherited technology back under control
The owners of this large modern home had inherited a mixture of AV, CCTV and alarm equipment. A Bose cinema system was no longer working, the Systemline multi-room audio had failed, and the security technology needed a thorough upgrade.
DAV was asked to assess what could be retained, replace what had reached the end of its useful life and leave the family with a system that felt straightforward rather than fragmented.
The solution
Keep what works, improve what does not
The equipment centre
A clean central rack for a connected home
The network, Sonos equipment and CCTV hardware were organised in a central rack so the systems are easier to manage, service and expand.
New Cat6 cabling supports the eight-camera Hikvision installation, while the Rithum touchscreen provides quick access to Sonos favourites without requiring a phone for everyday listening.
The installation
A two-day upgrade with minimal disruption
Survey and recover. We tested the inherited equipment first, restoring the Bose cinema and identifying the components that genuinely needed replacing.
Build the audio zones. Sonos Amps were configured for the main living spaces and garden, then linked to the Rithum touchscreen for simple daily control.
Upgrade protection. Eight ColorVu cameras, a 16-channel recorder and an Ajax system of around 15 devices were installed and commissioned.
Tidy and hand over. Equipment was centralised, labelled and tested so the owners could use every part of the system confidently.

Practical technology, neatly integrated
The result
One joined-up home instead of four separate problems
The owners now have reliable cinema sound, easy multi-room music, stronger CCTV coverage and a modern Ajax alarm—all delivered around the technology already present in the property.
The finished system is organised and simple to use, and the customer has already asked DAV to return and extend the CCTV coverage.
