An existing client who had just purchased a seven-bedroom Victorian property overlooking Lake Windermere asked DAV – TV, Audio & Security Systems to design and install a complete home technology package as part of their full renovation.

Because the property was being designed by an interior designer, our work had to be as discreet as it was functional – blending seamlessly into a high-end home without compromising performance.
Tailored Design & Planning
Jamie worked closely with the homeowner, interior designer, and electrician from the very start. We produced detailed first-fix cabling plans to make sure the installation was future-proof, reliable, and finished to the highest standard.
Installation Highlights
Multi-Room TV System
- Installed aerial and satellite distribution with multiswitches, delivering Sky Q and 150+ Freesat channels throughout the home.
- Bedroom TVs mounted on art stands for flexible viewing.
- A Samsung Frame TV fitted on the chimney breast for a gallery-style finish.
- In the kitchen, we recessed a 60″ TV with soundbar for a clean, built-in look.
Cinema Room
- Designed alongside joiners, featuring a walnut-clad wall with recessed 75″ 8K TV.
- Monitor Audio in-wall speakers, Atmos ceiling speakers, and a hidden subwoofer for immersive surround sound.
- Discreet AV rack tucked behind a custom-built door housing Sky Q, PlayStation, and all AV equipment.
- LED backlighting to enhance the wood panelling and ambience.
Result: a cinema space that’s as beautifully designed as it is technically advanced.
Complete Home Security System
- Installed an Ajax alarm system with a sleek touchscreen panel.
- Sensors colour-matched to each room, including specialist detectors like a flood sensor in the basement.
- Fitted 8 Hikvision CCTV cameras covering the perimeter, with two 7″ wall monitors (upstairs and downstairs) and app access for remote viewing.
- Combined, the CCTV and alarm system created a robust, easy-to-manage home security system for full peace of mind.
Internet & WiFi
- With poor incoming broadband, we deployed Starlink satellite internet, achieving speeds up to 350 Mbps.
- Installed a DrayTek router, Ubiquiti switches, and WiFi 7 access points across all floors for seamless coverage.
- Built two tidy network racks with patch panels for neat, reliable cable management.
Smart Gate Entry Preparation
- Pre-wired for a future motorised entrance system.
Planned for an Akuvox smart door entry system with facial recognition and proximity sensors, allowing the gates to open automatically as the client approaches.
